Another STAR TREK, another IMAX/LieMAX controversy.
PLEASE REBLOG TO INCREASE AWARENESS.
THERE ARE NO SPOILERS IN THIS POST.
MAY NOT NECESSARILY MAKE SENSEWell, when Star Trek came out in 2009, that’s when the smaller-sized, widescreen IMAX digital (aka LieMAX) came to the world’s attention thanks to a post, incidentally here on Tumblr, by Aziz Anzari. IMAX has continually made the stance that they “do not think of IMAX as the giant screen” but rather other technical factors which are beneficial, but none grabs the eye like the giant, 4:3 ratio (!!!) screen. That’s what IMAX connotes to people to this day (unless they’ve never been to a 70mm theatre).
